For over 5 years Francisco Gabuardy and I have collaborated on ever-changing hair designs. Complex elegant drawings that require hours of rigor and focus disappear over the course of one week. What does it mean to chase ephemera? There is a concept called ‘mono no aware’ which encompasses the transience of things, an appreciation of impermanence. This awareness of the quickness of life, and the fleeting nature of order and beauty is at the center of this sprawling collaborative project. This collaboration transformed my daily slice of life. (2014-2019)
